David Foster
Senior Advisor, AI & Learning Design
David Foster, Ph.D., MBA, is co-founder of Scalable Learning, which develops designed AI learning experiences for higher education and professional learning. Its current initiatives include Coached Cases and the Assignment Assistant, along with earlier work on Bosilos, an interactive media literacy program piloted in collaboration with the Media Education Lab.
David has held senior roles across higher education, educational technology, and corporate learning. He was Chief Academic Officer at ExecOnline, a leading provider of online leadership development, and previously held curriculum leadership roles at DeVry University Online and during 2U’s launch of the online MBA program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Earlier in his career at Accenture, he led an R&D group developing interactive training simulations.
His Ph.D. in Computer Science was from Northwestern University’s Institute for the Learning Sciences, and he holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2024, his book Moderates of the World, Unite! presented a set of national proposals for media reform focused on strengthening public discourse and reducing the effects of propaganda, manipulation, and a degraded information environment.
