The Twilight Zone and Civil Liberties

DATE: Monday, April 8, 2024

TIME: 5:30 PM

LOCATION: Warwick Public Library, 600 Sandy Lane

Join us to screen a few classic episodes of The Twilight Zone, followed by a discussion. We'll delve into the context and themes of the episodes, and how they connect to the ongoing fight to protect civil liberties today. The two episodes we’re planning to screen are The Obsolete Man and The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street, which provide rich discussion on topics including censorship and free speech, book banning, religious freedom, democracy, government transparency, etc.

This event is free and open to the public! Click here to RSVP — we appreciate RSVPs but they are not required.

This special event is a part of our 65th anniversary year.

Fun fact: The first season of The Twilight Zone aired in 1959, the same year the Rhode Island ACLU affiliate was founded.
